Changing oil!! Drain plug????

Default Changing oil!! Drain plug????

Trying to change my oil and the drain plug is so frigging tight i stripped one side of the bolt.. Like r u ****ting me.. yes im turning it the right way, yes Im using the right size wrench. Like I couldnt even get a pair of vice grips to budge this ****** ****er... pardon my french.. but im very aggrevated that a shop would put the drail plug on so damn tight I can get it off!! Ive sprayed it with pb blast and i still couldnt get it off??? Maybe I need tog et my impact wrench out?? ANyone have anything remotely close happen to them??

I've never had that happen. I've had issues with getting the oil filter but never the drain plug. Good luck dude!

heat and impact it. then chnage the oil yourself from now on so Otto the mechanic doesn't F your rig up.

Thanks .. Ill need it.. I mean Ive had them snug, but never like this.. I couldnt get it to budge at all, just rounded some of the edges off the damn bolt... I hope replacements arnt to hard to find. Does yours have a little rubber gasket of somesort behine the bolt and sits on the oil pan itself??

Yeah I always change my own oil.. Just the lady i got the Jeep from always sent it to the shop.. Im going to need a replacement plug, they arnt hard to find are they??

cant remember if mine has rubber thought it was copper. but yes im thinking auto zone has drain plugs. if its rounded off id try a pipe wrench....then stick to doing the oil myself because of Otto the mechanic lol.

any auto parts store will have em. try and get one with a copper gasket. i like those.

persistance kills all tight bolts...its the anger that causes all the problems. no worries i get pretty mad too when i cant get a bolt. especially a dumb little drain plug.

I got it... Changed the oil .. thanks god... put the torch to it for a lil and it broke loose... And it was a rubber gasket not a copper, bc it started smoking when i got the head to it.. Didint have the time to get a new plug, but the one side is still good and iw as able to get the wrench on their and SNUG ir up not impact it on...thanks alot fellas

glad we could help. do yourself a favor thought and get a new drain plug by the next oil change. prevent un needed insanity that stupid little things like a bolt can cause.

Yeah i will have one for the next oil change for sure.. it really had me going man... like i took off work early and what not.. Couldnt beleive how tight it was...Looks like they pushed in the oil pan a lil from tightening it so much.. Never had any problems with leaks or anything so Im good.. Always had/ have good oil pressure... it usta be at 40lb at start up its at 50lbs now!!! thanks again

Be sure to inspect the crap out of the drain and plug to be sure it isn't stripped.

I did.. plug was good.. Soon as I broke it loose, I was able to use my fingers to take it out and had no problems putting it back in at all.. Use my fingers to snug it up all the way before using the wrench. Im pretty sure its all good!!
