changing my 96 2wd to 4wd with parts off of my 2000 cherokee
i have a 2000 cherokee sport 4wd and i wrecked the front pass. side but didnt touch the engine and i also have a 96 cherokee 2wd that i just got and was wondering if it is possible and worth it to change the parts from the 2000 to the 96 to make it 4wd?

If all you are doing is swapping the drivetrain it is no big deal,you will need to swap everything but the rear axle,you will need to make sure the ratios are the same if not you will need to use the rearend also.

How can you say the engines aren't compatable? there are threads all over this forum on how the to put the 2000 intake on an earlier block as well as many engine swaps from 00 and 01 to an earlier XJ.
WHAT is not compatable is the computer as the 2000 now has no distruibuter. There are now coil packs that give each spark plug it's own individual coil. Everything else is just about the same.
Go for it. You have everything you need to make a good 4X4.

yeah i am ganna go for it cause i dont see why it isnt worth it. and the engines are compatible i dont kno what that guy is talking about but another do u kno if the interior parts would be compatible also cause i wanna change some of the new interior over to the 96
