Default Changing dash cluster

I have a 93 base model with idiot lights and electric speedometer. Want to change to one with gauges, pulled one from local yard only to find it's a mechanical speedometer and a different wire hook up. What can I do?

Go back and get one that matches! I gather that the swap is pretty straightforward for my 90, (which is different ) I'd need to change both the oil and temp senders to the gauge type, they work different, likely the same story for you. Don't quote me but you may want 91 to 95....not at all sure there though. (temp sender on rear of head, LECTRIC! speedo)

Btw I could use your old idiot temp sender if you do go there...

Maybe someone else here knows more about the 93...

What year cluster did you pull from the local yard?

As noted, you will need a gauge temp sender for the driver's side rear of the head and an oil pressure sending unit for the gauge. When I first swapped out the cluster on my '93, I used aftermarket senders but through the years have changed to OEM.

I believe DFlintstone is correct as respects the '91 to '95 compatibility. I know '93 has electric speedometer but can't swear to '91/'92.

Thanks guys, I went back and found the right cluster this time. Was going to grab the temp sender, but everyone had theirs taken already. But it's on order from advance auto, oil sender they had. Even found when I keyed it up, check engine light is on. lol

If you haven't checked out Rockauto for parts, you should. It takes a little longer to get than the parts store but the price savings is tremendous. Good Luck.
