Default changing axle seals

one of my rear axle seals is shot and its leaking out oil every were. how hard are they to replace? does anyone have a write up on how to do so? its in a d35.

Changed mine....I do not hv a write up about it...sorry...
Not very difficult I would say.....
jacked my jeep up...
remove tires....brakes....
remove the D35 cover....
there is a locking nut holding a cylindrical rod...bout 4"-5" long
remove the U pins can be seen between the pinion gears
Remove the shaft....
remove the seals and bearings...bearing puller helps....
change both since u r on it....
check the brake cylinder pump since u removed the brakes...
mine leaked on 1 side...so I changed both....
I hope this helps...I m not a very technical person...
Put back everything in reverse order...he he
Oh yes...the gear oil stinks....lol

yea gear oil smells bad ha, so the bearings are pressed onto the shaft? iv nvr done this so im just making sure its a task i can do. how do i go about doing the bearings? do i even have to change them?

well....i changed mine...since i remove the shaft...
I do not wanna open it again just to change the bearings...
yes...u will hv to press the bearing in...no need sophisticated machine...
a rod covering the bearing cover will do....make sure it sit in nicely...

to the axle shaft housing....
when u pull the shaft out...the bearing stay in the housing.

so when i pull the axle shaft out, the shaft will come out, then in the axle housing there will be the axle seal, then the bearing?

I would say if u do hv a bearing puller it will be easy....
If not...it will be pretty difficult unless you are a diy person...
It sit in pretty tight to get it out....
One thing I learnt that over in States....you can rent tools from auto shop?True?
