Look at the diagram for the evap system and go over all the lines looking for cracks. I had leaks from the canister connection lines and a crack in the connection down by the front driveshaft.
The evap hoses used on my 01 seemed to be just cheap vaccum hose.My double the milage 98 Grand has never had this trouble. The 90 degree hose at the cannister by the back axel was bad,the next one to go was in the line connection right near the steering column in the engine compartment. The 90 at the back has 2 different sizes on it,at least on mine and you cannot buy just the 90 you have to get the piping too.I ended up making one up out of brass 90 and the 2 different size hose connectors. I didnt have access to a smoke machine so I just connected the system up to a regulated 5 psi parked it in the garage with everything off and went over the whole system until I found them.

all the hoses seemed good i checked them thoroughly and i couldnt remember the exact code number....but i believe the culprit was a loose gas cap bc i tightened a few extra clicks after filling up and the light went away....thanks for the info allways good help on the cf

For a minor evap code, a loose gas cap can definitely set that code.....
It allows gasoline hydrocarbons (vapors) to escape and when that is detected, there is your check engine light and code.
Looks like you found the culprit.
A gas cap with a worn out gasket (seal) on it can do the same thing.
