Thanks to 'The Black' I have a new to me Cobra 25LTD WX Classic. I'm looking for advice on a CB antenna and SWR meter. As far as the SWR meter is concerned will the cheapest ($14) work just as well as $150 SWR?
Also I kind of like the idea of the stock look, so I'd like to find an antenna that some what resembles the radio antenna. Then mount it by wiper fluid bottle, drill a hole in the fender, and put one of these stock "antenna pads" on:

Link. So it would look like I had basically the same antenna on both sides.
I'd very much appreciate some antenna suggestions. Thanks guys!

cool, i love the mirrored look. kinda makes the grille look like a bmw grille.
but as for the antenna, you really want 2/3's of the antenna over the roof line to get the best reception.
but if you're only using it while wheeling on the trail to keep in touch with the lead jeep to the tail gunner, it should suffice.
i use and like the look of a 9ft fiberglass whip mounted to my rear bumper. when not in use, i bend it over the jeep and attach it to my roof rack mount. it looks cool that way.

I'm just not looking for a huge whip.
1) I'm not that thrilled with the look, I'd like it to be about 3', and I'd like it to be steel.
2) I really don't need any hella range.
Any suggestions?

i got a 3 feet wilson fiberglass antenna with adjustable tip, i was suppose to go to the jy today to try to get a second antenna mount, but got home from work too late... I planning on doing just like you explained. the stock antenna is 32" and my wilson fully extended is 37" and it is 1/4" in diameter so its pretty flexible still I will have to make sure my mount is solid enough

Good point, we have an off-brand truck stop here in town, worth checking out. Otherwise, I'll have to wait for my next road-trip.
This is probably the first thing I've had trouble buying on-line, you can't even get a decent picture much less details.
In fact, heres a google street view of what I have to deal with:
