Hey guys im somewhat new to this forum i just got my XJ like 2 weeks ago this site has already kept me up for hours at night lol. anyways i have a few questions about my exhaust, i bought a flowmaster muffler and im going to put it on and i noticed my cat must be broken inside its rattlin real bad, i guess my only option there is to buy a high flow, right? My other question is does my exhaust seperate or will i have to cut it......just looking at it im assuming ill have to cut it. i know someone on here could help me out , thanks....Mike

 

The factory exhaust on our '98 XJ is clamped before and aft of the cat but the tailpipe is welded to the muff. It was easy to remove and install a Magnaflow muff.

 

Ok mine doesnt have the clamp in between the cat and muffler but i should be good now im going to go to the store and get all my clamps and pipe ill need to make up the difference. thanks man that helped alot
