Default caster question

97 xj with 3.5i" lift is there a way to get my caster where it should be. with out installing adjustable ball joints. dew to mine are brand new. does anyone make upper or lower control arms that will help correct this problem. or am i barking up the wrong tree.

If you get adjustable control arms you have some adjustment on overall caster but not cross caster.

There is SOME caster adjustability in stock control arms. You insert shims behind the LCA upper mount-shoe and the frame mount. But at 3.5" you need adjustable arms and a trackbar to get it right.

Yes, at 3.5" lift, you pretty much need to max out your shims of the lca's to recover some caster. Longer arms are in your future. Some help can be found on a good site for Cherokees "gojeep.com", shows easy way to make the shims plus lots of other stuff.

I built my own longer lower control arms, but Rancho has LCR's for use with their 3" lift kit. They are a little longer than stock and much stronger too.

what is your caster set at? Did you get a print out that showed what the caster was after you lifted it?

Unless you installed adjustable ball joints, camber is not adjustable on XJ's. They came from the factory that way. Is your front axle bent? If not I wouldn't worry about it
