A case for Mopar parts
I just bought a 2000 XJ with low oil pressure and a new looking pressure sensor. It only showed 10-15 psi any time it was running. I put a $73 Mopar sensor in it and it's got 30 psi at idle hot and 45 psi at anything over 1000 rpm. Sweet!

It sure beats whipping out a manual test gauge and having to verify your *actual* pressure every so often!
I will say that my BSD (IIRC) brand sending unit from Pep Boys has worked pretty well for me for the past year or so - but you definitely can't go wrong with the Mopar part if you can find it.

I have 4 dealerships within 20 miles of my house. Only one of those will work on modified jeeps, and then reluctantly with no guarantees. This was the only one who had one in stock. The others would order it if you paid for it up front.

The major problem with the oil pressure sensor on the XJ is it's location. It's very easily damaged by slipping with a filter wrench. Even a "near miss" can cause it to read wrong. When I worked at Valvoline, my manager used to keep them in stock in case one got broken due to carelessness. The first time you got yelled at. The second time, you paid for it out of your pay. The third time and you lost your job! One of our customers relocated his because HE broke it! He used a piece of brake pipe and some fittings.
