Depends on how far away you live. It attacks the rubber seals pretty quickly.

You would be better off with water in the master cylinder than any petroleum product. Water won't damage the rubber in the system like petroleum based oils.

I thought he was going to say it makes a great paint remover, cause it does. That stuff will strip an automotive finish right down to bare metal!
And to the op, no that "trick" will not work as others have stated.
