I've soaked the top 4 bolts with a ton of PB and none of them want to move without making a blood-curdling screeching sound. I'm afraid of breaking them, and I'm not in the market for a new compressor...and I don't appear to have adequate tools for most of what I need done it seems. Is there any other way to try and get this thing free? I'm tired of driving around with a seized fan pulley (I have the replacement bracket), it's killing my gas mileage. Maybe someone in the GR area knows of a place that would be able to do this sort of thing without charging crazy labor fees?
Thanks for any guidance.

The bolts are l o n g doubt the PB is getting anywhere near the threads or the bolt shafts......work it back & forth as suggested, the compressor wont break, but the aluminum mount will suffer.
I have one if the worst happens, cheap. (94)

Spraying up under the bracket the compressor sits on ? around bottom of compresor were it sits? And take a hammer and hit them on the head.. not real real hard.. but enough that the shock helps....

I'm going to attempt to rent one from Autozone tomorrow and see if I can get it out that way...hopefully that doesn't break anything.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Well they wont loan them out and I can't afford to just buy one at the moment. Maybe a kind soul in the GR area would be able to offer some help in the matter? I could probably compensate you for your time, just let me know. I'm at wits end.

If you can do it without burning anything, heat the bolt to HOT with a torch, then spray it with PB or any penetrating oil. The oil will be sucked into the threads by capillary action. (Even at that you will still need to get the oil as close as possible to the threads, even if it's only by soaking the bolt shaft.)
BTW, steel bolts in aluminum still prefer WD-40. It's mainly kerosene which is an excellent lubricant for aluminum.

if they are screeching - that is good. It means they are turning. It's normal for a dissimilar metals connection. Keep wrenching they won't break if they are turning.

Just took 2 of them apart the other day, more than likely the bolts won't break. The bracket mite crack but it shouldn't hurt the compressor. You may also have to clean some aluminum out of the threads with a die (remember they are metric). Put never seize on them when reinstalling good luck.
had same thing happen to me today...3 bolts remove w/o issue, 1 snapped in 1/2. Have tried all day to remove the broke bolt. PB blaster, heat, drilling w/carbide tipped bit. Have accomplished nothing but 4 broken bits and 2 snapped easy offs. Now I'm looking for a new bracket that doesn't have a bolt stuck in it!
