Default Can't get speedo off gauge cluster!!!

I've been at it for three hours now! I keep coming back in to look up online how to remove it, check my manual, try to move cluster in every possible way, reaches under the dash (can barely get my hand in the hole that speedometer go through!) to try unscrew it, try to squeeze everything, try to pull it off. You name it!
Now my hand is all bloody and feel like it have a advanced arthritis and speedo haven't moved one bit! It is super frustrating! I need to get it off so I can finish the repair before I head to work tomorrow morning
Btw jeep is 87 Cherokee Laredo 4.0

Since you are in a hurry, I will ask what you are ultimately trying to accomplish.

I assume you have the cluster out of the dash and are now trying to remove the speedometer from the cluster to replace it?

Are you trying to detach the speedometer cable from the rear of the speedometer?

I have the feeling that it clips on but someone will probably have an answer before I can look it up tomorrow.

The speedometer is part of the cluster not a separate unit if that helps you at all. Cluster itself takes all of 5 minutes and like 8 screws to pull out, blood donations are optional.
