oh hell yeah i wouldnt hack it like that lol, theres a lip on the unibody underneath so i took some 1" angle iron and welded it up so it catches the unibody. works out pretty good i pulled my mom's horse trailer from ct to new jersey last summer all through new york city, jeep handled it like a diesel pickup

heres a pic

Awesome! Thanks guys
While I'm at it, I have another question: If I get the Chilton manual for my Jeep will I be able to fix a lot of problems that may come up??
Or is it not worth getting?

look on craigslist, i see them all the time. They're all pretty much the same just get a class III and repaint it if it looks bad. Mine was a rusted up drawtite i found at the pull-a-part and just sanded, primered, and rattle canned. Looks great

If you do a wrecking yard hitch remember to get the nut rails, they are inside the frame rails and you have to pull the bumper to get them. Otherwise the are a bit pricy to purchase later.

You dont *have* to use them. I didnt, but sure as hell wish i had. I did it the hardest way you could, just nuts bolts and washers. Some have a nutstrip and some just have little square pieces of steel that are the width of frame rail they go into. Nutstrip is definitely the preferred way to do it thou.

My 87 has what appears to be factory hitch on it.

The 95 had a Class III receiver type on it. I like it better because I used it to haul the bike on.

And here is it loaded.

I'm no mechanic, but don't you need a transmission cooler if your going to tow?
