Yes, Jeep might get a little more squirrelly. You'll be OK.

I went wheeling a couple weekends ago about a 2 1/2 hour drive from my house. Before I was heading home on Sunday I noticed that the bolt was missing from my Steering Stabilizer. I just took the nut off the other end and removed the stabilizer. I drove home and have been driving the past couple weeks without it and everything is fine. I will put it back on when I get another bolt, but since I can't even notice it is gone I am in not hurry.

Ideally yes.. this assumes your front end steering, wheels, tires, etc are in excellent condition.

If you have worn, damaged parts and/or simple things like a bad wheel alignment, you may experience front end instability such as vibrations up to and including and (true) Death Wobble.

Guys - While I agree stabilzers shouldn't be needed, they are there for an important purpose, especially on DD's.

I'd just be a bit cautious when recommending removing them. The folks reading your posts may not have the experience you have. This may result in a some dangerous situations.

Kent - Designed my front high steer without a stabilizer specifically to ensure sound design.

You have issues in your front end that need addressed then. Your stabilizer was only hiding them. I built my x-over steering, and do not run one. If your front end is solid, there is no major difference. I would not tell someone to do something that I think would get them into trouble. I have had substantial DW before, and know what I had to do to cure it, so I can say that if you are experiencing any issues without one, then it is time to look at every moving part on your front end to find what is causing the issue. HTH!!
