I thought you needed to drop the valve body to get to the solenoid? I was told not to do that. That write up from jeepforum made that look like you just drop the pan, remove the filter and pop the solenoid off and then put it all back together?

Hmmm...

First I'm gona do a tune up and get the codes read/cleared and I will keep you updated as to when I can do the solenoid.

Is there a parts store that sells decent ones? I dont want to go to the dealer but if that is the best way then so be it. I dont like ordering on line because I have bad luck getting what I ordered somethimes.

Yeah, the hardest part of the whole process is getting the pan off.

Inside the tranny everything has been coated in oil it's whole life so the bolts come out like butter.

I buy my electronics and transmission parts at NAPA and have had good luck. I refuse to buy electronics at the lesser chain stores (Autozone, advance, Oreilly) as I'm sick of having to change the part again in a year.
