Friend's got a 99 XJ with idiot light cluster. I would like to do a real gauge cluster. What do you do with the odo? Is that stored in the PCM?

Nope, it's stored in the gauge cluster.

none that I'm 100% sure of.

Might need to head to the stealership and ask if they can re-set with a DRB Scantool.

I'd have to look it up but I think the dealer can reset the odometer using their OBD III tool.
