So here's the story, I'm in the military and just got back from training which was 2 months long. My Jeep sat the entire time. I come home and pop the hood and find that mice have made my engine bay their home. I cleaned the entire engine bay and bleached it. Here's the problem I'm pretty sure there is a dead mouse in my ducting. How do I get in there to remove the rodent? I took all the screws out of this and lifted it a bit and the smell was just seeping out.
I wasn't able to take it all the way off because of the wipers. Can anyone help me? Maybe a video or manual or step by step pics? Thank you.

Come to think of it, I've never taken that off. Probably will have to pull the wipers and check around the edges for more screws that might be hidden. There's a small tab at the base of the wiper arm to release it.
Lift the wipers off the windshield and extend the little thumb tab Radi mentioned to hold them there. Then gently pry them off the posts. I believe they were originally greased but if it's like mine, the grease has congealed and become sort of a paste so it takes some finesse to jiggle them off and tons of patience to get them back on so that they align. Good luck with the dead critter, I don't envy the task ahead of you.

At the base of the wipers is the round part that connect to the motors knub. There will be a little tab. Like said earlier, lift the wiper and slide that tab counter clockwise. You may need a flat head screwdriver if yo havnt Don this in a while. When the tab is lifted out, lift the wiper straight up. Make a note about how the wipers were sitting because when you reassembl, you may need to adjust a few time so the the wipers wipe properly

Thanks for all the help. I'll give it a try. Otherwise I'm probably going to have to take the dash completely off, which looks like a nightmare. I called a local mechanic and he said he's do all the work for $600. I'm definitely contemplating paying the money lol. I work on engine stuff no problem, but stuff like this makes me uneasy lol.

I just read this write up http://buckeyejeeps.com/stuff/XJEvapReplacement.pdf I'm not doing my evap, but in order to properly clean the mouse crap and get the body out I'll have to drop the HVAC box, which means that the refrigerant will have to be evacuated. Looks like paying for it to get done is inevitable.
