So I wondered why my buzzer wasn't working, and it turns out that it isn't even there. Something like this would be useful since I sometimes forget to turn my lights off. Since It was probably annoying, maybe I could wire an LED instead. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for it?
The chime module runs about $20 on eBay.
I'd probably use a meter and figure out which pin in the connector has voltage when the parking lights are on, and one that has voltage only when the ignition is on. Then wire a 12-volt buzzer and a diode (in series) between them so the buzzer only works when the lights are on but the ignition is not. Looks like pin B2 a light-blue wire gets power when the headlights are on and the key is in the ignition? Also looks like pin A4, a white/black-stripe wire is powered from the gauges fuse?

the buzzer does not work on all 3 of my XJs and is evidently prone to failure
I only want it for the headlights,
nothing is more annoying than have it buzz when the door is open or seatbelt not done up
supplementary question...Looking at the circuit diagram, where does the chime module get its power from to chime when ignition is off, and park lights left on?,
as the diagram indicates + power comes from the ignition switch in the "on" position" (wt/bk)...this suggests it draws its power from the "park light" wire, (bk/yl) as it can be on when the ignition is off ?
that would suggest (as I alluded to) the buzzer module is internally configured, which could be tricky to figure out with a multimeter
in this case maybe a pair of transistors might be needed ?
