bumper lights
Wow, this is embarrassing.. but I just got myself a set of lights that I want to mount between my headlights on my bumper. So first thing I go outside and look at the bumper with the idea to take it off for a clean install... my question is how do I take it off! I looked under over in between.. and I can't figure it out. Do I need to leave it on for the light install.. does the plastic separate from the metal? And where would u recommend I mount them. On the black plastic blocks that stick out or the metal part just inside of the black pieces.
Don't go to hard on me...

I installed lamps with the bumper on. Just figure out where you want to put them, measure it evenly from the center of your bumper, mark the spots and go after it with a good drill and good drill bits. Climb up under the front end to access the rear of the bumper and you should be fine.
Never had to take the front bumper off, but an extensive search should show you a few how-to's if you really want to do it. I know i've seen one before on one of the forums. Either that or buy a Haynes manual - it will show you where every nut and bolt is located. I'd save the trouble though and leave the thing on.
Oh, and be careful tightening things up beneath that bumper. I cut the heck out of my hand putting my lights on when my wrench slipped!

The bumper really comes off fairly easily. There are threee bolts attaching each of the bumper brackets to the frame. Take out two of the bolts on each bracket and have omeone support the bumper or support it on jack stane while you take out the last two. the bumper should come right off.
