Default Bump Stop Advice

My jeep is in need of new bump stops in the front and back. Installation is no problem because I have a mechanic to help but I want to know which bump stops I should get and whether or not they should be used. It's an '89 Limited XJ with no lift (yet)

Just do oem rubber replacements. Two bolts each in the rear. Either scre in or just pop out in the front.

Sounds like you may need to move up your time line on a lift and replace those worn out leafs and coils.

Ok thanks. What about buying some JY bump stops from my local jeep jy until I don't lift?

That's what my mechanic is saying but I don't have the funds to do it just yet. I'm in an extremely tight budget but don't want to do that lift when you put blocks in the leafs or something. I'm trying to find a new job because my old one was seasonal. And my jeep loves to be towed a lot so I am always using the little money I have for buying replacement parts (even jy ones).

The rubber from a jy is going to be just as degraded.

So then what about some temp poly ones from eBay? They are like $25 ish for the front or rear. Can't remember which one.

They say they are for 94'+ XJ's. But will they still fit an 89'? And my mechanic said to save the money I would spend on labor to replace the front bump stops and put it towards a lift because the coils will be removed anyways then.
