You can go through water a little above the bumper in short passes. I have with my CAI a few times, even tho i still dont RECOMMEND you do it.

is there an alternator relocation kit out there somewhere? i've pissed off my alternator twice in the past month. i've had to go through some really deep water to get home. we get some crazy storms here.

Your wrong! Currently I have a homemade C.A.I and how is it that my I.A.T's drop to 20°f on a 53°f morning drive to work? And it doesn't have a heat shield! I Know a C.A.I works Im literally watching my I.A.T's drop right off my phone. Also explain why my intake manifold is cool to the touch after my drive to work? Over the winter it the tb & intake manifold would get ice cold! So your wrong C.A.I intakes. work
That's why I'm gonna delete my A/C and relocate my alternator up high. I need to do more homework on that project.
it seems simple enough though. put a pully in the current alternator position and then make a bracket to mount the alternator in the current compressor position. should also take a little stress off the engine.

another thought is once the work is doen it would be easy to reproduce and sell. now if i only had a junk XJ sitting around i could start the fab work and continue to use mine as my DD.

i've been considering this as well. the only time i use my A/C is when it rains and only to defog the window, so as long as the blower motor wroks, the window's should stay clear.

it might not be a cold air intake key word cold bit it does.let the engine breath better especially for 19 buck you can't really harm anything you get style points and you get better flow. its certainly not worth the tag price of 250 tho
well slightly back on topic, it would be great to do this with the ZJ V8 alternator. maybe even fab the backet so no grinding would be required.
