That cavity is sealed at the top and has drain holes at the bottom. You'd basically need your hood underwater for a few minutes to get water in the cowl snorkel intake.

You're still sucking up hot air from the engine bay. It puts the intake in the same place, and it doesn't seal it off from the hot under hood air. Unless you show me on a dyno that it helps, I'm gonna use common sense and not waste my money.
A cowl intake moves the air intake up about 6" and draws cold air. It's also highly resistant to flooding.
Don't argue if you don't know what you're talking about.

And just a fyi there clockwise. I have access to a dyno. A k&n kit killed 2hp and 13ft lbs or torque after my old xj was warm. K&n kits are all hype. Only thing they are good for on a xj is speeding up the hydrolock ability.

Your wrong! Currently I have a homemade C.A.I and how is it that my I.A.T's drop to 20°f on a 53°f morning drive to work? And it doesn't have a heat shield! I Know a C.A.I works Im literally watching my I.A.T's drop right off my phone. Also explain why my intake manifold is cool to the touch after my drive to work? Over the winter it the tb & intake manifold would get ice cold! So your wrong C.A.I intakes work
