WJ Rotors/Calipers - NOT a straight swap - requires the WJ knuckles to be adapted to the XJ D30 tube in order to mount the calipers and discs. WJ Master cylinder not required, but advised. You'll also need to swap the crossover style steering setup from the WJ. 15" wheels will not clear the brakes either - you'll need to run 16's or spacers

XJ D44 bolts right up, but gearing must match the front axle, and driveshaft may need to be swapped/shortened. ABS will need to be disabled by pulling the fuse.

So, what about transmissions?
It seems that an AX15 does just fine for power upgrades (read recently that they will servive behind a chev 350), but what automatics will fit in a cherokee for how mich power? How much power can an AW4 handle?

AW-4 is rated for 450 ft-lb
AX-15 is rated for ~350 ft-lb
NV 3550 is rated for 300 ft-lb
Suprises me that the ax15 is higher than the nv3550. Awhile back everyone was all about putting the nv3550 in the Wranglers, I stuck with my sm465. Thanks for the figures.

Why couldnt I take the double U joint off of a front axle and put it on a rear axle between the slip hoke and the upper shaft, and gain an inch or so in length to make up for a 3.5" lift?

That figure puts my mind at ease, though. Both my jeeps have AW4s, though one feels weak. Is an AW4 worth the time to rebuild? (from the perspective that I once rebuilt a 4L80E and got burned, three teardowns to get it on the road, still doesnt shift right from wear in the case, and then popped a seal that they failed to mention was supposed to be glued in.)

I got some 34s to put under my jeep. So I mounted em on my stock jeep rims ad in the rear they rub on the leafs. Is there any rim that doesnt have the backspacing? That jeep rims have?
Alot of times you can find aftermarket rims at the YJ. Jeep YJ, MJ. Ford explorer, ranger,Bronco 2 all will work, Any 5 on 4.5 pattern will work. As far as a stock rim with good back spacing im not sure.

Hmm ok. Well the jeep is inset (not sure if that is right) like 3.50" inches so I need one thats offset towards the out side of the jeep. The jy ppl don't know what fits what so im just truing to figure what the best rim is before I go back out there

K so I think I get it. Bs is the length between the edge of the rim to the inside of the plate of the rim? On the backside of the rim that is. So the stock rim has like 5.25" backspacing and I to have a rim thats 3.25" or so to clear the 34" tires on the backside?
Its measured from the rim centerline to the wheel mounting surface im pretty sure. So a 3.5 bs wheel should have the wheel mounting surface 3.5" offset to the inside of the rim.

Just curious, what kind of tire is it, and how wide? I ran 34" tsls last year and had no issues, even with everything stock (except a little work to the fenders and wheel wells). I believe they were 10.5 wide, but could have been a little more. I used my stock steel rims.
