Got a 2001 xj sport. Horn doesn't work when I press at the steering wheel. Horn does work however when I press my remote lock on the keyfob. Checked the relay, believe its fine. Checked the fuse, that checks out. I think the problem is in the steering wheel. Airbag light is also on so I dont know if that means it could be a problem in the column.
Anyone have this problem? Any help or advice?
Thanks in advance

To do the job you will need a clock spring, I got mine online from Ebay it was a Crown Automotive part. IF you do have cruise, you must order the clock spring that includes the cruise connector. I have had mine installed since Summer of 2020 and it still works fine.
You will also need a wheel puller to pull the steering wheel off. I got one from Harbor Freight for cheap and it worked. There are videos on the 'tube to show you how, but first step is to disconnect battery! Don't want a accidental on the air bag!

Been there and done this! Your clock spring needs to be replaced. If you have cruise, you will probably see that it doesn't work either! The clock spring connects the horn, airbag and cruise to from the steering wheel down the column and lets it work while we turn the steering wheel.

Yeah pretty much what sig220 said.
Let the Jeep sit for a bit, 20 minutes should be more then enough, after you disconnect the battery.
Make sure your wheels are straight.
You can rent a steering wheel puller at some auto parts store.
I know the one we have at my Napa worked just fine.
And last after you button everything up start the Jeep from the passenger seat.
Just in case. LOL.
