Ok, I have read a bit about the issue of broken seat frames and recline hinges that are an issue on the Jeep Cherokees. Mine is a 2001 so I understand that in addition to replacing the seats I can also swap in ZJ and WJ seats but I must re-use the Cherokee seat base/floor slider.

I haven't ever removed the front seats so when the posts that discuss this swap mention re using the base/floor sliders does this refer to the part that breaks.

Basically, I am trying to determine if with my seat busted the way it is can I swap the ZJ or WJ seats or do I need to stay with the XJ seats so I get a frame or whatever to replace my broken one?
