Broken Bolts Stuck in Sockets

Default Broken Bolts Stuck in Sockets

I was loosing some bolts, and some broke and are stuck in the sockets I used. Any ideas on how to get them out?

throw them at a concrete or hard surface. should shock them and loosen them up and knock it out. or put the socket in a vice and hit the nut or bolt with a punch from the top

Lay the socket on it's side on the concrete and strike the side of it with a hammer. The nut or bolt will usually pop out with 2 or 3 hits.

If those fail, put the socket in a vise open side down. Using a punch through the square drive end of socket, drive the object out.

i always stuck a screw drived in the square end and pounded that on the ground

I usually put a beater phillips-head screwdriver in the drive end of the socket, hold onto the socket with vise-grips and pop the handle of the screwdriver on the ground.

if its really stuck bad heat the socket up and then try to use a punch to get it out
