Default broken axle shaft

Hows it going? I broke both axle shafts at the splines on my rear waggy d44 (no c clips) i got the shafts out but the spline parts are still inside i was wondering what the best and easiest way to remove them would be. Thank you

Pop the rear diff cover off and push them out with your finger or a punch. I've never seen inside a d44 so I'm not sure if there's enough clearance between the carrier and the housing to pull the pieces through there. You might be able to pull the cross pin out and push the pieces through the carrier and pull them out that way though. Again I have never seen inside a d44. Do you have a pic?

I looked into chromoly shaft couldn't find them then I was told that they don't make them cause its a semi floating axle and that the shafts need to flex a little an chromoly wouldn't allow that. I did find some 1541 alloy (I think) shafts that are suppose to be 25% stronger then stock they were actually the only ones I could fine without having some made. I'm running 33 bfg mud terrains an the rear end is welded up.
