I searched the other threads with this title but none helped me. I've gotten a P0171 code lean bank. I can't seem to find the problem. I've got a rough idle, hesitation, and a odd smell from the exhaust. It's an 01 XJ 4.0 auto 4 dr sport 4wd. I was checking for vaccume leaks, I took the vaccume line off to the charcoal canister and the idle smoothed out and set back to about 750 where it used to be. I changed my thermostat to a 180 and was burning way to much fuel so I went back to a superstat 195. I just ran a bottle of Sea Foam through the fuel tank. It runs a hair under 200 degrees now. I've check the coolant system for air several times and it seems to be fine, overflow jug is staying full. Every now and then it will run smooth and normal for a moment and then back to rough. Now that we are all scrathing our heads bald, anyone got a bone to toss me? Thanks in advance.
