Broke a rod -- need an engine. HELP!!
Broke the #1 rod on my 2001 Cherokee.
Now I'm looking to replace the engine (4.0L) and am finding the is a specific block for this year. Any suggestions on the best course, whether to replace the engine or just the short block and where to find the parts?
Thanks for the help.

Is your block rebuildable, that is what I do. If not I would find a rebuildable motor from the jy,I have always bought my parts from the machine shop that does my block work, that way if things are not the right size you can have them make it right without sending them back.
