Broke down..

Alright so I was driving along and my 90' XJ died, no sputtering or anything, just shut down. It starts, revs up to about 2-3K and then dies out. Im thinking TPS? If it even has one lol Any help is much appreciated, also a fellow Jeeper stopped by while I was on the side of the road and said it could be the crank sensor. Not too sure tho...

Could be CPS and even EGR if that is still a RENIX.

When my EGR was bad, if I wasn't giving it gas it would die.

giving it gas doesnt help at all

I would start with fuel. Check to make certain you have fuel flow. The next is spark...needs to be at the correct moment. And compression I am assuming you have.
