Default brake squeak or squeal

How do you stop brake squeal? My buddy said mine are so loud. I can't hear it cuz of my hearing loss but it seems very annoying to other people so I wanna fix this. What's the way to go about preventing this noise?

Thanks
Chris

Two weeks ago. I put in new pads, rotors, and bled the system with new fluid. Rear brakes are still about 80%. Stops fine and all that. He said it squeals the very second I tap on the brake and doesn't stop until I stop.

Parts from napa.

Did you use the anti-squeak grease?

I would have said you need to turn the rotors but if you got new ones... I owuld rebleed the system or check and make sure something isnt crooked. Did you replace the calipers also... Did it start right after you did your brake job. Hell take it to a free estimate place and then just fix what they think is wrong lol.

No I didn't use the grease. Actualy never used it before cuz I never had this problem before. Where do you apply it?

I didn't replace the calipers but I know it needs that done. Sometimes after driving for a while, it pulls to the left when braking. This happens rarely, only when its hot and I drive it a lot. They are next on my list to do.

Thats probably your problem, you should have at least had them machined before completing the brake job.

Machine new rotors? I've always watched dudes at the brake shops just slap on new rotors right out of the box without any machining. Think I should have em machined?
I think napa turns and machines rotors so ill ask em about doin mine if that'll help. This is the first time I had a squealing issue in many brake jobs that I have done.

Have the calipers machined?? He put new rotors on it, so that shouldn't be the problem. The anti squeak goes between the caliper and the pads. Usually, they do not squeak constantly, it is usually intermittent. To put the grease on just pull the calipers back off, remove the pads and put the goo on the back of them. You may want to replace the calipers pretty quick, that sounds like an issue already and could be the cause of the squeaking. If that does not fix it then the pads are bunk. I know you bought them at NAPA, but I have found that NAPA's quality has gone downhill, and crummy pads will always squeak. If you wind up replacing the pads try the Raybestos Quite Stops, I have a friend that swears by them!! Hope this helps, good luck!!

It's not squeaking. He said it's sqealing real louding as I brake. That has to be pad/rotor problem, not caliper but the calipers will be replaced anyways. I just remembered that the rotors were from napa but the pads were from brakeplanet on ebay. They were listed has HP brake pads but looked like oem replacements. they were probably cheap pads.

And yeah I did wipe off the oil coating before running the rotors. I hosed it down with brake cleaner and wiped it off.
