Ok depending what route you want to take on this one.. Others here suggest getting things new, you wont be spending money since its replacements parts, get the needed tools, grease, shims, etc... And do it slowly and trying not to get any kind of grease or oil based products on either the pad or rotor.. I wash my hands after each step to ensure a clean install..

Or, you can pull everything off and start again, clean all parts with brake cleaner or soap n water, which i think is better if you have a scotch pad i would use that rather than sand paper to clean and resurface your rotors and pads.. get a bristel brush and clean of hub and studs, if havent done so already.. And continue with grease on backside of pads, shims, etc..

My .02 on how i would choose to attack this problem... good luck

New rotors and pads alike come with a protective film on them when you buy them new, if you do not clean that film off completely it WILL cause a squeek, thus, i always just took the minimum off with a brake lathe to assure that i never accidentally rubbed some of that film in or missed a spot or anything like that. If you access to a lathe that is the sure fire way to make sure you dont miss anything on accident.

I would also do this when i get the rotors, tell them that because they sold you the wrong pads the rotors are now trashed

If they are any kind of decent parts store they have a policy of making the customer happy and WILL exchange your parts. If they dont then tell them you will go else where or call their corporate office. That is unless you really want to buy all this over again?

I worked for O'reilly Auto Parts for a while as a top salesman in my district so i kinda know how this works. The store of course wont lose any money and you get new parts! Its a win-win!

Normal braking will remove any film or dust, at most all you should have to do is spray brake parts cleaner on them and wipe off.

The friction caused will seat the pads and get rid of any excess film. It may squeak a little at first, but unless the compound of the pad is messed up or meant for high heat it shoudn't squeak long.

you would think so, but i see it ALL THE TIME. If you brake hard after getting new rotors or they get hot and cool quickly it does what we call "Glazing" im sure everyone has seen it. Where the rotor is super shiny or almost a goldish/zinc color. Thats the film im talking about.

Yeah, your right. I forgot not eveyone is taught to make progressively harder/faster stops when you first do brakes to properly seat them. This of course being the correct way to break them in.

Good call.

Yeah and some rotors require the opposite. Like brembo brakes on my camaro require you to not stop hard at all for like 1200 miles or something like that. Its weird.

That might be warped rotors.. do u feel any fluctuation while braking, it brakes a lil then lets go.. and brakes some more.. and again let go?

Also

Un even wear on pads... take off one side which ever has the squeal squeal
and inspect everything..

If it makes any difference i had a seized caliper on the right side a good while ago....like a year or so ago when i first got it. Fixed the problem though, who knows how long my jeeps been doing this tho, I play my music full time and can only hear it when the music is off. Havent really noticed anything strange while braking, except that when it rains the brakes lock down when you barely touch them for a min or two, but after you use them a little they act normal
