Bought a 96' Cherokee Country! PIC!!!
I have been searching for a vehicle for a little while now, and while browsing craigslist, I found a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country 4x4 with only 100,186 miles for $1,400. I knew this was almost to good to be true "price-wise"
I called him, he said the oil gauge didn't work, I figured it was just a bad solenoid, which I've heard is common for jeeps. The radio didn't work, he hit a poll which dented the front bumper, and a lady hit his rear passenger door causing damage to the door not allowing it to be open from the inside, and the rear passenger fender is gone. Also the front passenger window doesn't work.
So I went to go check it out with a good mechanic friend that works on jeeps, and we drove it around, checked the body damage and what not, and mechanically it was perfect.
The rear passenger door is pretty beat up unfortunately, and the front bumper is in somewhat bad shape, I'm hoping to find a new door somewhere, not sure where, and remove the bumper and beat the dent out.
I asked the seller what his lowest price was and he said anything above $1,200 and I told him I had $1,000 cash right now and he accepted it!
Anyways here's a picture,
Please let me know what you guys think

WOW! $1,000. You did good. Looks good too. I would definitely put the money into it fixing the oil issue and pickup a new rear door and front bumper (they are both cheap).
Any vibrations over 55mph???
Definitely check everything and make sure no other leaks and safe for the road.
COngrats and welcome to the club : )

Yeah I plan on putting the majority of my money into the engine/oil issues.
No issues over 55mph...I've gone 70mph and it was fine.
Where do you think I could find a door/fender?
I've searched for doors around on ebay...etc and they aren't the same style trim as the doors I have on my jeep now, as well as color...so it might be a little difficult.
Thanks!

My priority list:
Get oil/engine issues situated.
Get door/fender fixed.
Black Paint job for $200(Electro Bake).
3" inch lift.
Bigger AT Tires.
Possibly more lights.
My overall goal is to have a nice looking jeep that will go off roading on weekends, not everyday.
