Bogging/ gas pedal not working?
2000 jeep Cherokee 4.0 auto
So it's happened twice now, when I've started driving and the engine sounded really weird. And I was hitting the gas pedal and it wasn't making me go any faster, I was basically just moving at idle speed, it eventually kicks in and works fine but idk, the first time it was after I was sittin in my jeep for an hour with it on(not driving) the other time was right when I started it up.

Have you seen the check engine light? If so, you must retrieve codes for clues and guidance on where to look first. Even if you haven't seen a CEL, it would be worth it to scan your computer for "pending codes".
There are really a lot of possibilities here. Keep us posted!

Update, still havnt figured out the problem but when I try to pull some one out of the mud or I'm stuck, any situation where I'm hitting the gas and not moving, the next time I start up the jeep it does the same thing and it's way worse then when I just idle

tps is probably bad.
they use a rheostat, could be dirty causing poor connection. pcm doesn't know when youre touching gas. just a thought. might want to go have it scanned at a place with someone that knows what they are doing.

it only happens when I let it idle for more than a minute or so and happens even worse when I hit that gas and don't move (like when I'm trying to pull someone out but it isn't really working lol)
