Default Body Control Module for 2000 Cherokee?

My Cherokee does all kinds of strange things like gauges going crazy, wipers stopping/starting, lights and turn signals going on/off, and now it won't even crank. I replaced the BCM in my 2001 Dodge Dakota which fixed similar problems. Does the Cherokee have a BCM?

Not sure what you mean by BCM. The Cherokee has a PCM, Powertrain Control Module". Older versions had an ECU. Same thing, it's the main computer.

The chances of the PCM going bad and causing all of that are very slim. You more likely have more simple electrical problems, like bad grounds. Check your battery cables (both ends of all 4 cables).

See my sig, #1.

I don't think so, but I changed the title of your thread hoping to get you more responses. That BCM acronym wasnt cutting it.
i still lean toward BRM's response.

I don't think it has a body control module , I know they have a lighting module , but I'm not sure if it does move . I think you should check the wiring to the gages and ground wiring under the dash .

Clean your grounds. Don't just look at them and say they're good take them off and clean them with a wire brush. The XJ no matter the year doesn't have a BCM you have at most 2 computers. ECU/PCM and TCU. Nearly ever accessory on the XJ is controlled via analog means.
