Like I posted earlier, if you will use 4LO to take advantage of the gear reduction and power multiplication, you almost have to try to kill the motor and you clutch lining will thank you.

I did some searching, but still not clear.

In 2WD that seems like you need a perfect clutch grab/accelerate to get up the ramp. I'm not perfect.

4WD LO with a crawl up the boat ramp is another option, but not finding a lot of info.

Anyone with some experience in this area? I need some pointers. Thanks
practice..

may i point out, what ever you do, don't engage the clutch if your tranny is under water.

Thanks all for the responses, colorful or not....

Looks like 1/3 say 2WD clutch. Other 1/3 say 2WD clutch ebrake. Other 1/3 say 4LO. 1 person says sell the Jeep

4LO resonates with me. I'll try that and practice. Thx

there is no reason not to used 4.lo these motors have plenty of torque! just let the clutch out and see how it goes..if it doesn't work then try the e-brake. its amazing the cars i see put boats in! like 2wd Colorados and exteras! your Cherokee can handle some jet skis!

practice holding yourself there in 4lo with only the clutch. you should be able to stay in one spot without rolling backwards or forwards. no brake, no e-brake, no gas, just clutch. you can do it.

then once you are comfortable with doing that, slowly use your clutch to roll forward, again, no gas.
then you can get rolling and add enough gas to keep moving.

you should be able to get out without using any gas at all, just clutch. but it takes a bit of finesse with using your clutch foot.
