So the blower motor wont turn on in my 97 Cherokee. It doesn't matter what the speed dial is set to or what any of the other controls are set to either. I replaced the resistor pack and the relay and made sure the fuses are good. The connector and wires to the resistor pack were melted so I replaced that as well. Despite all the replacement parts the fan still doesn't want to work.

The previous owner had stripped parts of the green and black wires that plug into the blower motor from the engine bay. He said he was connecting them directly to the battery to try to find the problem. I found that if I connect the green wire directly to the positive terminal on the battery the whole circuit starts to work. The fan turns on and all the dials work as they should. I can adjust speed and temperature and everything just fine but only when it is directly connected through that green wire.

I originally thought it was the relay or fuses but now I have no idea what the problem could be since it seems like the individual components all work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
