Where are you getting those quotes? good grief!
For the cost of repair you could replace that header with a better one
Headers
Oxy-Sensors
Sparkplug-Kits-Ect

Just some ideas...
Good luck!!

i dont know where you are from but i bought a new APN header/exhaust manifold for my jeep for 139 bucks that bolted right up, oxygen sensors for mine are like 70 bucks a piece at oreilley, and that tune up of spark plugs and stuff shouldn't be more than 50 or 60 bucks! 97 XJ. that shouldn't take longer than 2 or 3 hours to do all of that if i did it myself.

All of this can be done at home with usual hand tools.

The header is gonna be the biggest bugger: http://www.ocalajeepclub.com/Jeep%20...eader_swap.htm

The oxy-sensor is easy as cake.

Spark plugs, wires, etc are also just as easy. I would suggest a friend to help with the header. Good luck!
