Default Best replacement radiator $100-200 range?

1999 jeep sport, 167k

Dont mean to repeat threads but after searching and reading over and over the debates of 1 row,2 row,3 row,, trans line mods due to some new types not fitting etc... my head is now spinning.

Todays issue;I have tiny pin hole in radiator out of the left side shooting at my battery when jeep is parked after being driven.

Tuesdays issue, hose leak from overflow to radiator dripping near cap location. solution- (replaced hose and clamped) no leaks, issue fixed.

Two weeks ago, temp rocketed up on freeway, dumped coolant from the cap, sucker overheated.
solution-(did a flush, got alot of the usual rust color crap, changed t-stat and refilled with go5/water mix. seemed to fix temp back to 200 avg.)However I suspected a possible Rad blockage somewhere as after burping several times and flushing and seeing clear water, I could still manage to get some rust crap if I revved enough.)

So Question is;
What radiator fits perfect and works(no modfications)? I need something local napa, auto, oreily, etc or can order if shipping is quick. If there is a benefit to changing row number without compromising fit/or having to mod, which one is it. My range is $1-200.

I know you guy would know as during the research i see suggestions but then reviews start talking about modifying things to make it fit and I (X) it off my list.

Thanks in advance.

PS is it advisable to actually do the hood vent? I get the cooling benefit..However am always nervous letting water into the engine area?

I would just go to your local AutoZone or Advanced parts store and get one. I did that with my 98 about 5 years ago and haven't had a problem with mine. Plus if you do have a problrm you can just take it back and get a replacement and not have to wait if you order one. It will run you about $100 for a new one.

^ that.

Hood vents reduce the amount of heat in the engine compartment that over time takes its toll on components. Doesn't really do much if anything in reducing the coolant temp.

Both are spectra at autozone, one is 199.00 and other is 102.00, both say premium, not sure what difference is between 199 black one or the cheaper metal colored?

The expensive one is for a postal Jeep(right hand drive).

One of the best things about the AZ radiator is they are usually in stock and the no questions asked replacement.

I just put one in my 2000 XJ last weekend. I paid $73 plus tax through advance auto parts website (20% discount code online). Picked it up in the store the same day. It fits perfect and works great. I'm completely satisfied with it.

thanks for all the feedback guys. AZ is close so I might look into that. The advanced auto one scares me a bit, good price by far, however there reviews are not great, alot of threads mentioning trans line being bigger and fitment issues, I would be interested in takin a chance with that one if they were local, however they are not local.

thanks for all the feedback.
