With a NP242 you can only get a rear locker if you still want Full time 4wd correct?

You have bear hands? That is awesome! Bet it makes jerkin off kinda difficult though.

Selectable up front and you'll never notice it in full time. Posi up front and you won't notice it much. Auto locker in full time and I ask you kindly to never drive around me cuz you're probably gonna go straight even when the wheel is turned. That's how most 4 wheelers are with front diffs locked that is. I never actually put a front locker in a vehicle but did run a posi in my ould cherokee that had the 242. It wasn't too bad in 4 wheel but you definately ha to pay attention when straightening out of a turn (especially in snow)

So if i needed front lockers I should invest into a select able front? Is the improvement of front lockers even worth it?

10 fold dude. I don't know if you ever ha a vehicle with 1 locker but even 1 is a night and day difference. With front and rear lockers combined with some mud terrain tires, especially an XJ can be practically unstoppable unless you're in deep mud or flip it. I'm pretty sure it would at least try to climb anything you put in front of it but I'd stop somewhere around 10 story buildings.

Do it. Might need a winch if it has any kind of overhang from the roof
