Question Before I break something......throttle cable disconnect question

Going to replace the valve cover gasket and want to get the throttle body cables out of the way. I see how the two bare wire cables disconnect by just sliding off the connection point. How does the one I have the arrow pointing to disconnect? Just pop it off with a screwdriver? Looks to me like it's a ball/socket type connection?

Thanks! I just wanted to be sure before I damaged anything. I'm 60 miles from the nearest parts store and sure don't want to make that drive in the snow for something this small.

So you never disconnect the cable from the little plastic fastener? You just pop off the plastic thing with a screwdriver leverage, and the cable stays connected to the plastic fastener?

I didn't have to remove/disconnect the cables to get the valve cover out from under them...
FYI.

Makes it easier, 3 bolts and 3 cables then lay it out of the way

iflyfish,

You can stop looking for that third bolt now. Two bolts will be enough.

Not too easy to lay it out of the way is it?

"So you never disconnect the cable from the little plastic fastener? You just pop off the plastic thing with a screwdriver leverage, and the cable stays connected to the plastic fastener?"

Got it?

2 bolts out of the bracket and tied it up out my way. Valve cover lifted right out, old gasket off, new gasket on. Piece of cake!

Look at it and you'll see the "socket" is a spring wrapped around the clip. Pops right off.
