I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with about 3 inches of lift. 155,000 miles. I got up this morning it started fine now my driving to work the battery gauge went all the way down tonight. Anybody have any idea what this might be?

did both problems appear at about the same time?
could be a belt,ie. belt slipping on the p/s pump and alt. pulleys, would of course, cause a loss of performance in both.
OR,,
you could have your local-friendly auto parts store do a load check on your charging system, they do it for free, and check the fluid level in your p/s pump.

Get your alternator tested, If it passes than you need a new voltage regulator(IE. Whole PCM)
Either way your alternator should not be throwing that voltage.

Give her a good run and see where you are with the belt tight. 19v is to high of course..maybe something askew? As mentioned I think the regulator is in the PCM, not the Alt. Just a little .o2
