ball joint replacement
my hp30 needs ball joints. I've read that spicer is a good upgrade but I've also read that alloy and synergy is good also. any suggestions on whats the best swap, or upgrade.

Spicers aren't really an "upgrade", as they were what Jeep originally built them with. I'm not sure how much of an upgrade over Spicer the other two are. Probably can't go wrong with any of the three, so shop around and find one for the price you want and go with em.

Synergy I believe offers lifetime warranty, are metal inserts instead of poly and the lower are greasable.
Alloy also have metal inserts and lower greasable and have a 5 year warranty.
The Spicer are just factory replacements, poly inserts and maybe 90 day warranty no lower grease fitting.
Alloy has a problem of being super tight till they break in then had no problems, but can have some interesting road manners till then.
Spicer are about 95-130, alloy run 130- 150 for 4, synergy are about 259 for 2.
Lot of people run spicer with no problems have have the same set up its just depends do you like replacing ball joints, some replace them every year just depends on how hard you are on them.

I went Alloy for my D30 and I can't complain about them at all. I run 32x11.5r15 in the winter and when I put mine in I had 35x12.5r15's on and they held really well. Only reason I run 32x11.5r15's in the winter is because its actually easier to get around in the snow and ice with them than the 35's, for whatever reason the 35's just want to spin constantly on snow and ice.
