Default Bad Wheel Bearing? U-Joint? Imploded Gears?

Jeep was making a BAD noise when i started driving, slowed down, or turned.

What does this noise sound like to you? U-Joint? Wheel bearing? Or do you think i have even worse problems like a blown apart front diff?

Pulled my passenger side tire off and found this. Didn't take the driver side off yet.

You think that's all it is? This sounds BAD. I didn't think one of those would sound this bad.

Safely put the jeep in neutral and spin the wheel hub. If it sounds like it is grinding or giving you resistance that it is probably the wheel bearing. Me and my dad just changed both rear wheel bearings and hub assembly's on Thursday. The car made a loud hum when you are driving so this was the first indicator. Feel free the look further into the problem and look for things that don't seem right.

Good luck

"Imploded gears?" lol

The unit bearing is trashed. Might as well do both sides & replace the axle shaft u-joints while you are there.

Jack the front end off the ground and put one hand on the top edge and the bottom edge of the tire and rock it back and forth. There should be no play in the wheel bearing. If there is a lot of play you need to replace it.

If you we're moving the hub and the axel was moving up and down like that in the video (if that's what I saw correctly) your wheel bearing is toast

Don't buy the chinese junk bearings or you'll be performing the same service in a few months down the road. Timken all the way and I believe you can get some with lifetime warranty. As someone else suggested replace the axle shaft U-joints while your in there.
