D30 axle shaft in a hi pinion axle?

D30 axle shaft in a hi pinion axle?
Just damaged my axle shaft trying to get the ujoint out. Local junkyard doesn't have the hi pinion axles, but they have a couple of the older D30s. Will the shaft from an older model D30 fit in the hi pinions?
