last night i replaced the TCase as i was having vibration issues in 5th gear. now when i start up or turn the jeep off i have a really bad vibration coming from somewhere underneath. doesnt matter if the tranny is in gear or not, just seems to have a really horrible vibration sound when i start it up or turn it off. even when i just sit at an idle i can hear some kind of noise that seems to be coming from the transmission but im not sure....any thoughts on what i should be looking for? motor mounts and tranny mount are all good..

94 cherokee 4x4, 5spd man, 4.0

edit: ok its has to be something with the transmission/torque converter? as this is my first rig with a manual tranny i have no idea if they have torque converters on them but by the way its acting i assume its something along those lines. so my first thought is that the bolts have come lose and need to be tightened but seeing as the bell-housing is completely closed, i have to separate the motor and tranny.

so how far do i need to pull the two apart to get what ever bolts may be the cause of the unbalanced thing in there? im fairly skilled and can do the job i just need to know what im going to be getting into as this is my DD

edit: just read this and i think im f*kd =( http://borntourist.com/gallery2/v/mods/clutch/

There is no torque converter on a manual transmission. They use a flywheel, clutchdisc, pressure plate assymbly.

Are you sure the tcase has the same splinecount as the old one?
