I have just recently put on a 3.5 RE lift kit. I have the Bushcrafter flat flairs to put on it. My plans would be 32x11.50's. What kind of backspace would be good to keep them from rubbing and push them out a bit under the flares? Thanks in advance.

do 15 x 10 with a 4" back spacing; I bet that would look good. 8's would probably be sunken

What about 31s on the stock rims with the 3.5 lift?

^ What about it? You'll rub if you don't extend your bump stops; they'll fit though. Make sure you limit your body sway too.

15x10 with anywhere from 4-3.5 backspacing will be fine.

31's with factory rims will rub on the lca's at full lock. The backspacing on factory rims is 5.25.

for 11.5, i wouldn't do 10 inch rims. the recommended rim for 10.5 to 12.5 is 8 inch. you will actually get a smoother ride and can air down more to keep a tighter bead.

32s are getting harder to find, not many tire makers make them anymore.

i'd look into 33x12.5, more available at competitive pricing.

put those on 15x8 with 3.75 and you might just get a bit of rubbing on the lower control arms at full turn. you will need to do a bit of trimming, but you would with 32s as well.

So for the RE superflex kit with stock rims and 31x10.5 your saying this is a bad idea? Just want to make sure when I do the build I'm not doing some rookie mistake because I did not ask.

only one way to find out.

rims are cheap and easy, do the lift, use the tires with stock rims and if they happen to rub/chew up.... get rims.

you may just get away with it problem free.

Yep, get some 15x8 wheels with 3.5-4 inches of back spacing with the 31x10.50-11.50 tires and you should be good. Also it is always a good idea to have the bump stops set up right.

31s with 8" rims and 3.75 backspacing.







I too just bought the Bushwacker flat flares. In my test fit, the cover up my tire setup perfectly! No pics yet though, still installing.

Calvinator, I like the idea of 3.75 back spacing, that really looks good on your xj. How soon will you be doing flares?

I like the thought of 32x11.50
I know tires sizes run different with different companies. Who makes a good 32ish 11.50 semi aggresive/aggresive tire that I should look at?
