it's a decent amount of modification for the ZJ rear as well. You've got to trim the side plastic to make it wide enough, cut out the lock tabs from the donor ZJ/WJ, weld in the lock tabs for the underside of the seats, and drill holes for the hinge/removal points on the front. I'm currently trying to get it to work for mine. I did the front swap and the rear is taking some time.
Thanks for the correction overland. thought it was 96.

Depending on which stock seat you have in the front of your XJ it is a huge upgrade to go to the ZJ ones. I had these horrible vinyl seats that were terrible when I got my XJ. I found a pair of ZJ seats in the JY and they bolted right in. I opted to get the all manual ones rather than having to mess with wires, and they are 100 times more comftorble.
The heated/power ones can be made to work. I didnt do it personally but there have been people who have. If you search the threads I am sure you will find it.
do a search for budget upgrades while you are at it. There are a bunch of lists of all the stuff you can pull off of JY cars that will upgrade the cherokee
