You may run into a problem with the shifter housing be too long, im not sure if thats different or not, but I grabbed a shifter handle out of a 95 wrangler when I did my swap, the shifter sits at the radio's height, I like it, but just letting you know. Move cross-member back one "hole" on the unibody will have to tap holes. Use a Ax-15 tranny mount.
Look for the external slave set up one, easier to install. use a pilot bushing from a 304 mid 70's CJ7.
Buy the clutch master and slave cylinder set up as an assembly from the Dealership! about $150 but worth it. Must be from a '95 model Cherokee if external slave to work right.
Ok now the tricky part. the transfer case must have the sun gear planet assembly, front input bearing and sun gear (input gear) replaced to match the 23 spline on the AX-15 output shaft. Might as well rebuild the tranny while you have it completely apart.
No need for new driveshaft, it works just fine I have no problems.
Everything inside the bell-housing except the pilot bearing, and the throwout bearing will be reused and does not have to be changed, but check for wear and damage; replace everything required.
Transfer case linkage afterward, hea thats a hard one, still working on it.
I think that about covers it in brief.

after going thru a tranny swap myself recently (AX15 2wd-4wd swap) i have found out that the wrangler AX15 is not a direct swap, it will clock the transfer case higher and into the body, which i have heard you can beat out the body for the clearance, but no idea how much.
cherokee-specific 4x4 AX15's are out there on ebay, as well as dodge dakota 4x4 AX15 will work, just have to get a 4.0l/ax15 bellhousing.
also, usually more cost-effective to just get another 23 spline case rather than changing planetary in existing one.
your 4x4 selector *should* work, the 5spd shifter from your BA10 won't, try and get the shifter that came with the AX15 as well.
(i have a leftover AX15 shifter and bellhousing i would be willing to let go for pretty cheap +shipping.)
good luck with it.

my linkage is 4 inches short, and the bracket that bolts onto the transmission on the BA10 will not work on the ax15. Furthermore, you must find the transfer case bracket for the 5 speed ax15 that came stock in the Cherokee, which I still haven't been able to find.
have to crawl underneath and move the lever by hand.
I got the planetary and everything I needed for around $40 and another $20 in new seals, and about an hours labor done by your truly.

contrary to the above poster, your transfer shifter linkage bracket *may* work because it bolts to the same 6-bolt pattern as the AX5 and AX15, however, the main pivot hole may need modified or moved. you just have to have it all out there and figure out what needs moved where if anything.
i was in a somewhat similar situation, execpt i was going from 2wd to 4wd, and already had an AX15 2wd XJ cherokee, but since it was 2wd version, not much of it was compatible, and it had no linkages or brackets for the 4wd, but i bought an automatic 4w donor vehicle, and found ~99% of it was straight swap, and like i said above, just had to modify the linkages/brackets some, and had two of the three driveshafts i had corrected, of which none were quite close enough.....
