axle troubles

Default axle troubles

My front axle is popping on the passenger side does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Most likely the front axle u-joint, possibly a ball joint.

I had a similar problem, and I had my drive shaft and u-joints replaced. But at the time I had a mechanic who pretty much robbed me blind. So i'd roll with the words of others. (but when he replaced both the problem went away)

H'm it seems like the popping is in the axle its self. Could that still be the u joint

I wouldn't know. But does it increase while you are turning? speed? and can you feel it or just hear it?

This refers to the AXLE u-joints, not the driveshaft u-joints.

Inspect the ujoints for play. Get under your rig and grab a hold of them and try to wiggle them, if the u joints move in even the slightest way then they are bad

They are right by the end of the wheels. The yokes look kind of like a couple of U's
